About.
I am from Dayton Ohio and I currently live in Lake Monticello, Virginia and it is here that I have begun to write and record more fervently than ever before. My early music career started at the age of 10 when I began to play drums and then took up guitar around the age of 12 or 13. I began playing and working with musicians from my neighborhood and school, generally gravitating to drums, I have and will always have a passion for them.
I have spent many years performing, recording and enjoying music. My influences include Led Zeppelin (John Bonham), Van Morrison, Rush (Neil Peart), The Police (Stewart Copeland), James Taylor, Genesis (early) and so many more. My musical influences continue to change based on my overwhelming desire to learn and understand new techniques and sounds.
I have played in numerous bands and recorded with many Dayton musicians playing mainly drums and guitar but I have also recorded playing bass, keyboard and vocals. It is my early days in the studio, especially with the band Urgent Cry (out of Ohio), that I learned to love recording and writing. I began playing guitar more during these years and I learned that my lack of technical guitar training allows me independence to explore the instrument.
With encouragement from some of my music buddies in Dayton, especially those on Pensacola Blvd., I continued to write music and eventually began to write better lyrics. I wrote my first complete song at the age of 18 and I have dabbled in writing ever since. To this day I remember my influences from my old street in Ohio, I learned everything I know from all of them.
I hope to make some of them proud with what I am currently writing and recording and I hope that you also enjoy what I have done.
Thanks and happy listening.
